We are Immersive Authority (Pty) Ltd, a physiological intelligence company based in South Africa. SWEL Health is our device-agnostic middleware platform designed to normalize and analyze wearable health data into clinical-grade insights using the HL7 FHIR standard.

Comments & Community Interaction

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection.

Important Note on Health Data:

We strongly advise against posting personal medical information, lab results, or specific physiological metrics (e.g., HRV scores, medication lists) in public comment sections. Any health data you voluntarily disclose in a public forum is done at your own risk and is not protected by our clinical encryption framework.

Media & Medical Documents

Public Uploads: If you upload images to public areas of the website (e.g., profile avatars), please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Private Clinical Uploads:

Documents uploaded to your private SWEL Health Dashboard (such as PDF lab results or screenshots of health metrics) are processed securely. These files are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and are only accessible to you and the specific analytical engines (e.g., Gemini Vision/OCR) required to parse them. They are never publicly visible.

Cookies & Local Storage

Standard Cookies:

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name and email in cookies. These last for one year. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks.

Functional Health Tokens:

We use secure local storage tokens to maintain your session with our FHIR-compliant backend. These tokens allow your browser to securely communicate with our API without transmitting your password repeatedly. These are strictly necessary for the technical functioning of the SWEL dashboard and contain no personal health data.

Embedded Content & Wearable Integrations

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, charts). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Wearable API Integrations:

When you link a third-party account, you are authorizing a secure “handshake” between our servers and theirs. We do not embed their full websites; we strictly consume the specific data points you authorize via their API for normalization into your health record.

• Huawei Health Kit: When you connect your Huawei wearable or Huawei Health account, SWEL Health accesses biometric and activity data via the Huawei Health Kit API. Data accessed may include heart rate, sleep, stress (HRV-derived), SpO2, body temperature, steps, calories, workout records, GPS routes, and body composition data. This data is used exclusively for physiological analysis within the SWEL platform. We access only categories you explicitly authorize and retain this data only for as long as you maintain an active account.
• COROS Open Platform: When you connect your COROS account, SWEL Health accesses activity and biometric data via the COROS Open Platform API using OAuth 2.0 authorization. Data accessed may include workout records, GPS routes, heart rate, distance, elevation, and HRV status. This data is used for training load analysis, race predictions, and AI coaching. You may revoke access at any time via your COROS account settings at training.coros.com or from within the SWEL Health app.

Who We Share Your Data With

We operate on a “Data Sovereignty” model. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal health data to advertisers, insurance companies, or data brokers.

Operational Sharing:

• Infrastructure: Your encrypted data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) servers (specifically Cloud SQL and Cloud Run). Google acts as our infrastructure provider but has no access to read your unencrypted health records.

• Analytical Processing: Anonymized physiological snippets may be processed by our Advanced Analytics Service Module (ASM) to generate insights (e.g., “Vital Drift” alerts). This processing is stateless and does not retain your data for model training.

• Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

• Comments: Retained indefinitely for context.

• Registered User Profile: Personal information (name, email) is stored until you delete your account.

• Physiological Data (FHIR Records): We retain your health metrics (Heart Rate, Sleep, Activity) only for as long as you maintain an active account.

Deletion Protocol:

If you choose to delete your account, your data is cryptographically erased. We do not “soft delete” or hide your data; we permanently purge your specific FHIR Patient ID and all linked observations from our database.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and GDPR, you have the right to:

1. Access: Request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including your raw HL7 FHIR health records.

2. Correction: Request that we correct any inaccurate medical or personal information.

3. Erasure (The Right to be Forgotten): Request that we erase all personal data and physiological history we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data is Sent

• Visitor Comments: Checked through an automated spam detection service.

• Health Data: Your physiological data is processed in our secure Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). While you may access the site from anywhere, the primary data residency is within enterprise-grade data centers that comply with ISO 27001 and HIPAA physical security standards.

• Cross-Border Transfer: If you are accessing SWEL Health from outside South Africa, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in our secure cloud locations, protected by standard contractual clauses for data privacy.
